Illustrations of Fungi
I have always been fascinated by fungi. My relatives
send me photos of the splendid specimens that
they find in the woods. I love tramping damp
autumn woods to find something that I haven’t
seen before. Then, of course, there is a bit of a race
to get some painting done before the fungi changes
and melts away. Here are a few.

Plant Portraits
This is where I just enjoy seeing and recording
the plant in front of me. There is an opportunity
to play around with composition and design. I
love vertical lines and also intricate curls and
loops.

Classic Botanical Illustrations
This is where I record more than what I see at one
moment. Where I study the plant through seasons
and incorporate element of the plant through it’s
life cycle. These paintings can take months to
complete, as I wait for the next phase of their life to
arrive. Many people say ‘These look like the
Victorian paintings’. The Boardwalk classic
illustrations are an academic set only available as
high quality prints.
