After the fire. Jenny received an RHS medal for her ‘After the Fire’ illustrations. Over the last two years I have concentrated my painting studies on the heathland opposite my home. I was inspired by burnt, blackened gorse bushes, and in front was a statuesque, flowering foxglove. The contrast was magnificent and inspired my project. My study is of 6 plants that reappear in the same growing season. They are all set against burnt gorse sticks. These are presently in London for the RHS Botanical art exhibition at the Saatchi gallery.
