After the fire. Jenny received an RHS medal for her ‘After the Fire’ illustrations. Over the last two years I have concentrated my painting studies on the heathland opposite my home. I was inspired by burnt, blackened gorse bushes, and in front was a statuesque, flowering foxglove. The contrast was magnificent and inspired my project. My study is of 6 plants that reappear in the same growing season After the Fire. They are all set against dead burnt gorse sticks.
